We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Treasury Accountant Location: Yaba, Lagos (Hybrid) Sector: Finance Reporting Line: Financial Controller About The Role The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s treasury activities, focusing on optimizing cash flow, managing currency risks, and ensuring efficient and effective foreign exchange operations. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Treasury Accountant with specialized expertise in Foreign Exchange (FX) management. This role is pivotal in managing financial risks related to foreign currencies and providing strategic recommendations to improve the company’s liquidity and capital structure. Key Responsibilties Treasury controls and process improvement. Monitor and execute cross-border payments and transfers, ensuring competitive pricing and efficient settlements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) Ensure timely and accurate reporting of FX activities, treasury KPIs, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyze cash flow trends, bank fees, FX gains/losses, and treasury KPIs Monitor exchange rates/currency fluctuations and their impact on company’s Track and reconcile foreign exchange gains and losses. Collaborate with senior leadership to provide insights and recommendations on financial markets, FX risks, and treasury operations. Supporting automation and treasury system improvements. Negotiate and execute fx trade profitably Maintain proper documentation for fx and treasury transactions. Manage intercompany fx settlements, and reconciliations. Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management. Maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure favorable FX rates and services. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience: in treasury management, with a strong focus on FX. Must have completed the mandatory NYSC Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced computer software skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and other accounting packages Key Competencies: Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners. Problem-Solving: Ability to assess complex financial situations and develop strategic solutions. FX Expertise: Good understanding of FX markets and negotiation skills. Ethical Judgement: Upholding integrity and confidentiality in financial work demonstrates maturity and sets the tone for ethical leadership later on.
