The role requires a seasoned professional with strong technical expertise, experience: in managing complex accounting functions, and the ability to align financial practices with regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in statutory compliance, internal controls, reporting, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Ensure proper management of working capital and liquidity. Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Build strong relationships with banks, regulators, and auditors. Utilize accounting and ERP systems effectively for reporting and compliance. Manage daily cash flow, banking transactions, and reconciliations. Support consolidation of financial results across departments or subsidiaries. Collaborate with business units on financial planning and analysis. File tax returns, statutory remittances, and other regulatory reports on time. Comply with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. Prepare and present monthly management account. Manage loan portfolio. Monitor investment and financing activities where applicable. Leverage technology for regulatory reporting and decision support. Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures. Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions. Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial statements Prepare daily, weekly and monthly treasury accounts. Monitor expenditure against budget, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions. Ensure compliance with CBN, FIRS, and other regulatory requirements. Liaise with external and internal auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Provide timely financial information and support to management. Ensure adherence to corporate governance and compliance frameworks. Support automation and process improvements in finance functions. Performance Indicators (KPIs) Audit outcomes and compliance ratings. Compliance with statutory, tax, and CBN regulatory requirements. Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports. Efficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning. Efficiency of loan management. Effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes. All round delivery of treasury activities. Qualifications Chartered Accountant (ICAN) – mandatory. 10–12 years of progressive experience: in accounting and finance roles. Preferably in structured organizations or regulated financial institutions. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and regulatory frameworks. CBN registration – added advantage. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
