We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Auto Electrician & Mechanic Location: Apapa, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The role ensures that company vehicles, heavy-duty trucks and mobile equipment remain safe, reliable and operational. The Auto Electrician & Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automotive electrical, electronic, mechanical and related systems. Key Responsibilities: Inspect and maintain vehicle electrical systems, including batteries, alternators, starters, wiring, lighting and charging systems. Respond to vehicle breakdowns and provide field repairs when required. Work with supervisors to plan preventive maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot engine starting, charging and ignition problems. Identify worn or damaged components and recommend replacement. Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance/Fleet Supervisor. Ensure all repairs are completed according to manufacturer specifications. Repair and replace faulty wiring, sensors, relays, fuses and electrical components. Perform oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication and routine servicing. Conduct pre-start and post-maintenance inspections. Inspect and maintain air-conditioning and other auxiliary vehicle systems. Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty trucks, utility vehicles and site equipment. Service engines, transmission systems, braking systems, suspension, steering and cooling systems. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic scanners and testing equipment. Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, parts used and equipment condition. Maintain a clean and safe workshop and work environment. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on vehicles and mobile equipment. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company HSE procedures. Maintain workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and spare parts properly. Requirements: Practical experience: with modern vehicle electrical and electronic diagnostic systems. Valid driver's licence is an advantage. Experience: with heavy-duty trucks, mining equipment, construction equipment or industrial vehicles is preferred. Possess an OND / HND / Trade Test in Automobile Engineering, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience: as an Auto Electrician, Automobile Mechanic or combined Auto Electrician & Mechanic. Relevant technical or professional certification is an added advantage.
