The role involves identifying and converting new business opportunities, developing strong relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders, increasing occupancy and utilization of the property's facilities, and creating new revenue streams across accommodation, food and beverage, events, conferences, meetings, leisure, and other hospitality services. The Business Developer will serve as a key link between the hospitality business and its target markets, including corporate organizations, government institutions, event planners, travel agencies, tour operators, diplomatic organizations, social groups, and individual clients. The role requires a commercially driven professional with strong knowledge of the Lagos hospitality market, excellent networking and negotiation skills, and a proven ability to convert relationships and opportunities into measurable revenue. Role Responsibilities: Business Development & Revenue Growth: Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets. Identify new business opportunities across corporate, leisure, events, hospitality, and institutional markets. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and business opportunities. Prospect for new clients through networking, referrals, cold outreach, industry events, digital channels, and strategic introductions. Convert qualified leads into paying customers and long-term accounts. Identify opportunities to increase revenue from rooms, restaurants, bars, conference facilities, events, banqueting, catering, leisure facilities, and other hospitality offerings. Develop initiatives that increase property utilization during low-demand periods. Prepare and implement business development plans aligned with the organization's overall commercial objectives. Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual business development targets. Corporate & Institutional Sales: Identify, target, and acquire corporate accounts within Lagos and surrounding business markets. Build relationships with companies, government institutions, NGOs, diplomatic organizations, embassies, financial institutions, schools, and other relevant organizations. Develop corporate accommodation, meeting, conference, catering, and event packages. Negotiate corporate rates, contracts, service agreements, and partnership arrangements within approved company policies. Maintain regular contact with existing corporate clients to encourage repeat business and strengthen account relationships. Conduct client visits and presentations to promote the property's services and facilities. Monitor corporate account performance and identify opportunities for increased business. Events, Conferences & Hospitality Sales: Generate business for conferences, meetings, weddings, social events, corporate events, private functions, and other hospitality-related activities. Build relationships with event planners, wedding planners, event centers, travel agencies, tour operators, production companies, and entertainment businesses. Develop and promote attractive event and hospitality packages. Respond promptly to enquiries, prepare proposals, and follow up on quotations to secure bookings. Coordinate with Operations, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Events, and Marketing teams to ensure successful delivery of contracted services. Develop recurring partnerships with event organizers and corporate event planners. Identify opportunities for group bookings, retreats, seminars, workshops, and corporate functions. Strategic Partnerships: Identify and establish mutually beneficial partnerships that can generate business and increase brand visibility.
