Researcher, Citizenship By Investment and Third-Party Due Diligence Job Type Full Time , Hybrid Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience: Location Lagos Job Field Research and Development Role Purpose The aim of compliance-driven due diligence is to assess our clients' actual or potential counterparties, looking for any issues that might pose a reputational or other risk to them. As part of a dedicated team (Scaled Diligence Programmes), the compliance due diligence researcher role involves media research, working with human sources and data bases, primary documents and other sources to uncover reputational and criminal issues and ultimate beneficial ownership, as well as making sense of complex corporate structures and identifying possible political and sanctions exposure. Your main task will be to review, coordinate and report the findings of OSINT and HUMINT research, review documents and triangulate their significance in context within short timeframes. A meticulous eye for detail is a must in this challenging, fast-paced role. The right candidate will be a team player who can maintain a positive attitude under pressure. You will be required to make sense of complex information and have a clear and crisp writing style. What you'll do: Work on a range of due diligence assignments, including enhanced due diligence for Citizenship By Investment (CBI) purposes, corporate compliance/ABAC/ESG and financial crime/IPO/KYC projects Conduct media and database research using complex search criteria and following a strict methodology Liaise with in-country source networks to obtain relevant compliance-related information not available via OSINT sources Analyse search results within the context of the project and the country, Distil conclusions and identify indirect connections from research findings Rate findings based on standard or tailored risk assessment methodologies Summarise all relevant findings in a report When required, brief and present findings to internal colleagues Collaborate with team members across the firm to deliver joint projects Requirements: Essential Passion for identifying, the indicators of money laundering and identity fraud, and analysing these indicators in context to determine residual risk in specific cases Knowledge and familiarity with the commercial, legal, media and integrity risk landscape of one or more of the following core regions of focus: the former Soviet Union, South, East and Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and the MENA region Fluency in written and spoken English with the ability to write with nuance and clarity in business appropriate Plain English Ability to communicate complex topics verbally and in writing effectively Ability to summarise large amounts of information in a clear and concise manner Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks to tight deadlines Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team Education: to degree level Preferred Experience: in online and human source intelligence gathering Literacy in another language relevant to research Knowledge of wealth generation norms in specific relevant sectors and jurisdictions, built through professional, personal or academic experience: Check how your CV aligns with this job Method of Application Interested and qualified?
