Job Title: Senior Grant and Partnership Officer Location: Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary Open Health Foundation is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Grant and Partnership Officer to lead the organization’s grant development, fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnership activities. The successful candidate will identify and secure funding opportunities, develop high-quality grant proposals and concept notes, manage relationships with donors and strategic partners, and support the organization in building sustainable partnerships that advance its health and development objectives. The role requires strong research, proposal writing, relationship management, project coordination, and communication skills, with a good understanding of the nonprofit, public health, and development sectors. Key Responsibilities: Grant Development and Fundraising: Research and identify relevant grant, funding, and partnership opportunities from foundations, government agencies, development organizations, corporations, and international donors. Monitor funding portals, donor priorities, calls for proposals, and grant opportunities relevant to the Foundation’s programs. Lead the preparation of compelling concept notes, grant proposals, expressions of interest, budgets, and other funding documents. Coordinate proposal development with technical, program, finance, monitoring and evaluation, and management teams. Maintain an up-to-date grants pipeline and funding calendar. Ensure all proposals and applications are submitted accurately and within required deadlines. Develop and maintain a database of prospective and existing donors and funding partners. Partnership Development and Management: Identify, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with potential partners, donors, NGOs, government institutions, private-sector organizations, foundations, and other relevant stakeholders. Develop partnership concepts, collaboration frameworks, MoUs, and other partnership documentation where required. Represent Open Health Foundation at relevant meetings, conferences, workshops, networking events, and stakeholder engagements. Strengthen existing partnerships and identify opportunities for long-term collaboration. Support the development of strategic partnerships that increase the Foundation’s visibility, reach, and impact. Donor and Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular communication with donors and strategic partners. Prepare donor updates, progress reports, presentations, briefing notes, and partnership communications. Coordinate donor meetings and follow up on agreed actions. Ensure donor requirements, expectations, and reporting obligations are clearly communicated internally and appropriately managed. Support donor retention and relationship-building strategies. Grant Management and Reporting: Track active grants to ensure compliance with donor requirements, timelines, deliverables, and budgets. Coordinate the preparation and submission of donor reports in collaboration with relevant teams. Monitor grant milestones and flag potential risks, delays, or compliance issues to management. Maintain organized and accurate grant documentation and records. Support grant close-out activities and lessons-learned processes. Strategy and Business Development: Contribute to the Foundation’s fundraising and partnership strategy. Conduct research on emerging trends, donor priorities, and funding opportunities in the health and development sector. Identify opportunities for program expansion, strategic alliances, and new sources of funding. Provide management with regular updates on funding prospects, partnership opportunities, and sector developments. Support the development of organizational profiles, capability statements, presentations, and other business development materials. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Development Studies, International Relations, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience: in grants management, fundraising, partnerships, business development, donor relations, or a related field. Demonstrable experience: developing successful grant proposals and securing funding. Experience: working with NGOs, nonprofit organizations, foundations, development agencies, or health-focused organizations is highly desirable.
