We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Procurement Engineer (FMCG) Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Procurement Engineer (FMCG) support the procurement and supply chain functions by executing sourcing activities for raw materials, engineering equipment, spare parts and services required for FMCG industry and operations. The role is responsible for sourcing suitable suppliers, obtaining and evaluating quotations, coordinating technical and commercial requirements, monitoring purchase orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials in line approved specification, budgets and operational requirements. Responsibilities: Procurement Execution & Support: Prepare procurement comparison sheets and recommendations for management review and approval. Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to approved and prospective suppliers. Support procurement activities in accordance with approved procurement plans, client requirements, and company procedures. Identify and evaluate potential local and international suppliers based on price, quality, capacity, lead time, and reliability. Assist in sourcing raw materials, engineering spare parts, equipment, and servicesrequired by FMCG clients. Follow up on approved purchase orders to ensure timely supplier acknowledgement and fulfilment. Raise purchase requisitions and support the preparation and processing of purchase orders. Obtain, collate, and analyze supplier quotations and support technical and commercial evaluations. Technical Evaluation & Compliance: Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, equipment manuals, and technical documentation where applicable. Ensure that procured materials, equipment, and spare parts meet the required technical specifications and quality standards. Review supplier technical submissions, product specifications, datasheets, drawings, and catalogues to ensure compliance with client requirements. Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including RFQs, quotations, technical submissions, comparison sheets, purchase orders, and delivery documentation. Liaise with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and client representatives to clarify technical and material requirements. FMCG Supplier & Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, product specifications, lead times, payment terms, and delivery schedules. Escalate supplier performance, quality, pricing, or delivery concerns to the appropriate management level. Identify alternative suppliers and sourcing options to mitigate supply chain disruptions. Support supplier prequalification, onboarding, evaluation, and periodic performance reviews. Monitor supplier performance in relation to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and pricing. Develop and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers relevant to theFMCG sector. Cost Management & Commercial Support: Conduct market and supplier price comparisons to support competitive procurement. Identify opportunities for cost savings and value optimization without compromising quality or specifications. Monitor supplier price changes and market trends affecting procurement costs. Analyse the total cost of procurement, including transportation, logistics, duties, installation, and other applicable costs. Assist in negotiating favourable pricing, payment terms, delivery terms, and lead times, subject to approval. Support preparation of commercial proposals and cost schedules where procurement inputs are required. Delivery, Logistics & Expediting: Monitor the status of purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery within agreed timelines. Support resolution of delayed, incomplete, damaged, or non-conforming deliveries. Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, site, and client teams to support delivery schedules. Coordinate inspection and quality checks where required prior to dispatch or delivery. Assist with expediting of critical materials, spare parts, equipment, and consumables. Ensure that delivery documentation, certificates, packing lists, invoices, and other relevant documents are properly obtained and maintained. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain an up-to-date database of suppliers, products, prices, lead times, and procurement history. Maintain proper procurement records for audit and management review. Support procurement audits and project/client close-out documentation. Prepare procurement status reports, RFQ trackers, quotation comparison sheets, purchase order trackers, supplier performance reports, and delivery schedules. Provide regular updates on outstanding RFQs, purchase orders, supplier commitments, and expected deliveries. Ensure compliance with Raybond Technical Limited's procurement procedures, ethical standards, and documentation requirements. Authority & Limits All commercial negotiations and commitments remain subject to the applicable approval limits and management approval. Vendor negotiations are limited to preliminary pricing, technical clarifications, delivery terms, and other discussions within approved parameters. May recommend suppliers and procurement options but does not have final authority to approve suppliers or commercial commitments unless expressly delegated. No independent signing authority for contracts, purchase orders, or other commercial commitments. Requirements: Good understanding of FMCG manufacturing processes and the procurement requirements: associated with production continuity. Experience: working with RFQs, supplier quotations, purchase orders, procurement comparison sheets, and supplier documentation. Experience: dealing with both local and international suppliers will be an advantage. Proven experience: sourcing engineering materials, spare parts, equipment, and/or production-related materials. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline. 3–6 years' experience: in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or project engineering, preferably within the FMCG, manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer goods, or industrial sector. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of FMCG procurement and supply chain processes. Strong technical and engineering knowledge with the ability to understand specifications, drawings, datasheets, and equipment requirements. High attention to detail and strong documentation skills. Good negotiation and commercial awareness, particularly regarding pricing, lead times, payment terms, and delivery conditions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong supplier sourcing, evaluation, coordination, and relationship management skills. Ability to manage multiple RFQs, purchase orders, suppliers, and competing priorities simultaneously.
