We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Local Assistant Chinese Chef Location: Eleganza Plaza, Ajao Estate, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary This is an Assistant Chinese Chef position serving approximately 10 Chinese employees. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, clean, responsible, cooperative and willing to work long-term. The successful candidate will mainly assist the Chef with food preparation, cooking support, kitchen cleaning, ingredient handling and general kitchen duties. Job Responsibilities: Assist the Chinese Chef in preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner for 10 Chinese staff daily. Properly store food ingredients and ensure raw and cooked food are kept separately. Follow the instructions of the Chef and management and cooperate with other kitchen duties when required. Assist with checking food supplies and report shortages, spoiled ingredients or equipment problems to the Chef. Assist with washing, cutting, peeling and preparing ingredients before cooking. Help reduce food waste and use ingredients properly. Support the Chef in preparing Chinese home-style dishes, stir-fried dishes, stews, soups and other daily meals. Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, including cleaning utensils, cooking equipment and work areas. Assist in organizing and preparing ingredients according to the weekly menu. Be willing to work weekends and public holidays when scheduled. Job Requirements: Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food handling and food preservation. Candidates with only Nigerian/local food cooking experience: will not be considered. Must have a stable work history and be willing to work long-term. Basic English communication skills and ability to understand daily work instructions. Must be hardworking, clean, responsible and willing to learn. 1–2 years of experience: working in a Chinese restaurant, Chinese staff canteen or Chinese kitchen is preferred. Basic knowledge of Chinese cooking and kitchen operations. Must be able to work well with the Chef and follow instructions. Must be physically fit and able to work in a kitchen environment.
