We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Content and Community Lead Location: Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary Whot Studios Limited is looking for a highly creative, strategic, and hands-on Content and Community Lead to take ownership of our digital presence and online community across multiple platforms. This is a multidisciplinary role for someone who understands that social media is more than simply posting content. The ideal candidate must be able to develop content strategies, create and edit engaging video content, manage online communities, appear confidently on camera, identify trends, write compelling copy, manage social media platforms, and turn ideas into content that drives engagement and brand growth. We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly creative, internet-savvy, culturally aware, and capable of working independently without constant supervision. Key Responsibilities: Content Strategy & Social Media Management: Write engaging captions, social media copy, scripts, hooks, and other written content. Stay updated on social media trends, viral formats, trending sounds, memes, cultural conversations, gaming trends, and emerging content formats. Create platform-specific content that aligns with the company's brand, products, campaigns, and objectives. Develop and execute comprehensive content strategies for Whot Studios and its products across Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), YouTube, Telegram, and other relevant platforms. Identify opportunities for Whot Studios to participate in relevant trends and conversations quickly and authentically. Track competitors and relevant brands to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices. Monitor social media performance and use analytics to improve content strategy and audience growth. Develop and maintain weekly and monthly content calendars. Content Creation & Video Production: Produce behind-the-scenes, educational, entertaining, promotional, community-focused, and trend-based content. Edit videos professionally, including cutting, transitions, subtitles, sound design, colour correction/grading, and basic motion graphics. Conceptualise, shoot, edit, and publish high-quality short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms. Repurpose long-form content into short-form videos and create multiple content formats from a single production. Assist with content production during events, tournaments, activations, interviews, game shows, and other Whot Studios activities. Create content independently from ideation through production and publishing. Develop creative concepts, scripts, hooks, storyboards, and content ideas. Confidently appear in front of the camera and create personality-driven content where required. Community Management: Highlight community members, winners, gameplay moments, testimonials, and user-generated content. Manage and grow Whot Studios' online communities, particularly theTelegram/Whatsapp community. Develop strategies to increase community participation, engagement, retention, and organic growth. Identify community feedback and communicate relevant insights to the appropriate internal teams. Build genuine relationships with players, followers, customers, creators, and members of the Whot Studios community. Create engaging discussions, polls, announcements, contests, and interactive activities for the community. Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, questions, feedback, and community conversations. Brand & Campaigns: Contribute to influencer collaborations, partnerships, product launches, tournaments, and marketing campaigns. Collaborate with designers, videographers, management, product, and operations teams to execute campaigns effectively. Support founder-led content and personal branding initiatives where required. Develop creative campaign ideas that increase brand awareness, engagement, community growth, and product adoption. Create content around Whot Studios' products, gaming experiences, events, milestones, and company culture. Support the development of Whot Studios' brand voice and online personality. Requirements: A genuine interest in Gaming, Entertainment, Technology, Digital Culture, or online communities is an advantage. Strong organisational and project management skills. Must submit a portfolio with the application. Strong portfolio demonstrating previous content, campaigns, social media work, and/or community growth. Ability to develop content ideas independently and execute them with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics. Comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) from a recognised institution. Excellent knowledge of current social media trends, viral content formats, internet culture, and digital communities. Strong video editing skills and the ability to independently edit social media video content. Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and Telegram. Must have previous experience: managing a Telegram / Whatsapp community. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet content deadlines. Strong copywriting, storytelling, communication, and creative thinking skills. Proven experience: managing social media platforms for a brand, business, or organisation. Minimum of 4 years of professional experience: in Content Strategy, Content Creation, Social Media Management, Community Management, Digital Marketing, or a closely related role. What We Are Looking For The successful candidate should be able to move seamlessly between strategizing, writing, filming, editing, posting, engaging with the community, analysing results, and developing the next idea.
