Regional Sales Manager-North East Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience: 6 years Location Lagos Job Field Sales and Business Development Job Brief We are seeking an experienced, and results-driven Regional Sales Manager – North-East to lead and oversee the sales and business development activities of the company and all its subsidiaries across the North-East region of Nigeria. This role requires a strong managerial and leadership background, responsible for driving regional revenue growth, expanding market presence, managing and developing sales teams, coordinating the performance of multiple business units, and ensuring that all subsidiaries within the region achieve their commercial and operational objectives, proven experience: managing teams and multiple territories, and a deep understanding of the North-East market. Key Responsibilities: Regional Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for sales and business development activities across the North-East region and all company subsidiaries operating within the region. Sales Growth: Develop and execute regional sales strategies and plans to consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and sales targets across all subsidiaries. Market Expansion: Identify new commercial opportunities, develop new territories, onboard distributors/dealers, establish strategic partnerships, and expand the company's presence across the North-East. Subsidiary Performance Management: Monitor the performance of all subsidiaries within the region, identify performance gaps, and implement appropriate strategies and corrective actions to improve business results. Managerial Oversight: Set clear performance expectations, establish targets, monitor team productivity, conduct performance reviews, and hold regional and state-level teams accountable for results. Active Coaching: Conduct regular field visits across the region to monitor sales activities, provide hands-on coaching and mentoring, strengthen team capabilities, and enforce company standards. Business Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, dealers, community leaders, government stakeholders, corporate organizations, and other strategic partners. Credit & Collections Portfolio: Ensure proper customer onboarding and compliance with applicable registration and payment processes. Monitor repayment and collection performance and support initiatives to minimize payment defaults. Cross-Functional Synergy: Coordinate with Operations, Technical, Finance, Customer Service, Logistics, and other internal teams to ensure smooth business operations and timely resolution of customer and operational issues. Brand Activation: Oversee and support high-impact regional sales campaigns, product demonstrations, market activation events, and other initiatives designed to increase brand awareness and customer acquisition. Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, market trends, customer behaviour, pricing, and emerging business opportunities across the region and provide strategic recommendations to Management. Reporting & Strategy: Prepare and submit accurate regional sales, business performance, field activity, market intelligence, and competitor reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as required. Performance Improvement: Identify underperforming teams, territories, and subsidiaries and develop practical action plans to improve sales performance and overall business results. Policy & Compliance: Ensure all regional teams and subsidiaries comply with company policies, operational procedures, sales guidelines, and approved business processes. Build and maintain strong relationships with sales teams, distributors, agents, community leaders, customers, and key stakeholders across the region. Educational Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics, Management, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years' progressive experience: in sales, business development, or commercial management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or regional leadership position. Proven experience: managing and leading multiple sales teams across different locations, states, or territories. Demonstrated experience: in achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. Experience: managing multiple branches, business units, subsidiaries, or territories will be a strong advantage. Experience: in renewable energy, PAYGO Solar, FMCG, telecommunications, financial services, microfinance, or related industries is preferred. Fluency in Hausa (spoken and written) is mandatory to effectively manage regional teams and engage customers and stakeholders across the North-East. Deep geographical and commercial familiarity with major market hubs across the North-East region. Proven experience: in people management, team development, performance management, and sales leadership. Strong understanding of market expansion, distributor/agent management, customer acquisition, and sales operations. Willingness to travel extensively across the North-East region.
