Products Limited (GHAP), is recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Manager - Co2 Plant Location: Edo Employment Type: Full-time Reports to: Factory Manager Organizational Level: Management Key Relationships: Internal: Managing Director, Operations Manager, Factory Manager, HSE, QA/QC, Security Manager, Supply Chain, Chief Engineer External: Regulatory & Standards Body (e.g. SON, NAFDAC, etc.), ICO2 Customers Job Profile This includes overseeing production activities, safety compliance, plant maintenance, quality assurance, staff supervision, and ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability of the plant. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a solid understanding of industrial gas operations. The CO₂ Plant Manager is responsible for the optimized carbon capture and processing from the fermentation plant and the overall management, operation, and performance of the CO₂ production facility. Duties and Responsibilities: Operations Management: Optimize plant output, energy usage, and operational efficiency. Manage day-to-day operations of the CO₂ plant to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient production. Monitor CO₂ purification, liquefaction, storage, and filling processes. Develop and implement SOPs and operational controls. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE): Ensure proper handling, storage, and transport of CO₂ and related equipment. Enforce strict adherence to HSE standards, including OSHA and local regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability: Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of compressors, pumps, refrigeration systems, storage tanks, piping, and filling systems. Quality Assurance: Oversee laboratory testing, calibration, and quality documentation. Ensure CO₂ product meets food-grade (ISBT) quality specifications. Implement quality improvement initiatives. Staff Leadership & Development: Ensure shift schedules and staffing levels meet operational requirements. Conduct training, performance evaluations, and workforce planning. Supervise plant operators, technicians, and support staff. Regulatory & Compliance: Prepare and submit required operational, environmental, and safety reports. Maintain compliance with regulatory bodies, environmental agencies, and industry standards. Inventory & Supply Chain: Coordinate with logistics and sales teams to meet customer demand. Manage CO₂ stock levels, and bulk delivery scheduling. Budgeting & Reporting: Track KPIs, prepare performance reports, and present findings to management. Prepare plant operational budgets and control costs. Performance Metrics Cost of Production. Plant reliability and uptime. Compliance with ISBT/Food Grade Quality. Plant output. Experience: and Qualifications: Good communication, reporting, and organizational abilities. Strong understanding of CO₂ production technologies (fermentation, combustion capture, purification, liquefaction). 7–15 years experience: managing a CO2 production Facility. Advanced certifications in industrial gas operations or HSE are an added advantage. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong leadership and team management. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Ability to read P&IDs, technical manuals, and process flow diagrams. Knowledge of safety standards (ISO 22000, FSSC, OSHA, etc.). At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
