It commenced operations in June 2010 upon obtaining a Unit Microfinance Banking License from the Central Bank of Nigeria. It later obtained a State Microfinance Banking License in 2016. Bosak Microfinance Bank Limited’s financial inclusion effort focuses on promoting savings culture, access to credit facilities for income-generation purposes and reducing vulnerability to risk through micro insurance. The Bank’s major strategic focus employs the group lending methodology in its operations with a leaning towards women. It believes in the commitment of women folk to work hard and help their families conquer poverty. As such, more than 95% of the Bank’s lending activities focuses on women. The success of the bank’s group lending activities largely depends on group solidarity and cohesion. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Financial Control Officer Location: Ogba, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Responsibilities: Perform other duties and responsibilities: as may be assigned by the Unit Head. Act on behalf of the Unit Head during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of operations, implementation of decisions, and compliance with reporting obligations. Liaise effectively with account officers of correspondent banks on banking and financial control matters. Process and document customer Fixed Deposit placements and investment advices within 24 hours of approved requests. Conduct daily reviews of income and balance sheet accounts and escalate discrepancies where necessary. Prepare monthly management accounts accurately and within established timelines. Provide supervisory support within the FinCon Unit, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of all assigned outputs. Prepare weekly Financial Control (FinCon) Unit ALCO reports and minutes of meetings. Monitor idle funds and ensure prompt placement in appropriate Fixed or Call Deposits with correspondent banks, subject to approval. Complete and submit End-of-Month (EOM) bank reconciliations to the Unit Head by the 5th day of the following month in hard copy. Prepare Board meeting reports and minutes of meetings. Prepare and submit monthly CBN N-Returns to the Unit Head for review and onward submission. Maintain proper documentation of PAYE, WHT, and EMTL monthly remittances and receipts. Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions. Prepare and submit weekly bank reconciliations to the Unit Head every Tuesday in soft copy. Ensure the prompt preparation and posting of monthly journals. Requirements: Good understanding of CBN regulatory reporting requirements: and applicable financial regulations. 3–5 years of relevant experience: in financial control, accounting, audit, or a related role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/financial management systems. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills. Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and integrity. Ability to work independently while providing effective supervisory support to the FinCon Unit. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables effectively. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, bank reconciliation, management accounts, regulatory returns, and financial controls. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
