The role will oversee and coordinate key supply chain activities including demand planning, sourcing and supplier coordination, procurement support, importation, logistics, inventory planning, warehousing, order fulfilment and supply chain performance management. The role will also support the Company's expansion into new markets and ensure that supply chain processes are scalable and adaptable to operations across Nigeria and other African markets. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing and optimising the Company's end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring the timely, cost-effective and efficient movement of products and materials from suppliers to the Company's warehouses and ultimately to customers. Key Responsibilities: Supply Chain Planning & Strategy: Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans. Develop supply plans based on historical consumption, sales forecasts, open orders, customer requirements, lead times and inventory levels. Translate business and sales requirements: into actionable supply plans. Develop and implement an effective end-to-end supply chain strategy aligned with the Company's commercial and operational objectives. Continuously review supply chain processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency and improved service delivery. Establish appropriate inventory policies, reorder levels, safety stock and minimum/maximum stock levels for critical products. Demand Planning & Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels across warehouses and business units. Ensure that inventory planning considers supplier lead times, importation timelines, exchange-rate fluctuations and other supply constraints. Recommend appropriate actions for slow-moving, obsolete or excess stock. Monitor stock availability against customer orders and committed delivery timelines. Analyse inventory turnover, stock ageing, slow-moving and non-moving items. Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for key products and product categories. Coordinate periodic inventory reviews and reconciliation with Warehouse, Finance and relevant stakeholders. Work closely with the Sales to understand current and projected customer demand. Ensure adequate availability of fast-moving, critical and strategic products while minimising excess and obsolete inventory. Importation, Shipping & Logistics Management: Monitor customs clearance activities and work with relevant service providers to resolve clearance issues. Identify opportunities to optimise shipment consolidation, freight costs and delivery timelines. Coordinate the end-to-end movement of imported goods from suppliers to the Company's designated warehouses. Ensure that all required shipping and importation documentation is available and properly processed. Monitor international shipments from order confirmation through production, dispatch, shipping, clearing and final delivery. Monitor freight, clearing, transportation and associated logistics costs. Coordinate inland transportation from ports or other entry points to the Company's warehouse locations. Ensure that logistics activities comply with applicable regulatory and company requirements. Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, clearing agents and other logistics service providers. Order Fulfilment & Customer Delivery: Identify potential fulfilment challenges early and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders. Coordinate with Sales and Warehouse teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled within agreed timelines. Review open customer orders and ensure that supply requirements: are aligned with delivery commitments. Prioritise supply allocation where inventory is constrained, based on approved business priorities. Ensure that delivery schedules are realistic and aligned with actual inventory and supply availability. Work with logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective customer deliveries. Monitor order fulfilment performance and identify recurring bottlenecks. Warehouse & Inventory Coordination: Monitor stock movements between locations where applicable. Support implementation of appropriate controls around inventory movements and stock accountability. Review warehouse processes and recommend improvements to reduce losses, damages, stock discrepancies and operational inefficiencies. Work closely with the Warehouse team to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management. Ensure appropriate handling and storage requirements: are maintained for different categories of products. Ensure that warehouse inventory records are aligned with system records and physical stock. Investigate and resolve inventory variances in collaboration with Warehouse, Finance and other relevant teams. Support regular cycle counts, stock counts and inventory reconciliation exercises. Cost Management & Optimisation: Monitor the Company's supply chain costs across procurement, freight, clearing, warehousing and transportation. Identify opportunities to consolidate shipments and optimise logistics spend. Analyse landed costs and identify major cost drivers. Provide relevant cost and supply information to support pricing and commercial decisions. Support management in evaluating alternative suppliers, shipping routes and logistics options. Ensure supply chain activities are conducted within approved budgets. Monitor supplier price movements and their potential impact on margins. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or customer service. Risk Management & Business Continuity: Ensure business continuity plans are practical and regularly reviewed. Develop and maintain contingency plans for critical products and suppliers. Identify alternative suppliers and logistics routes where required. Identify potential supply chain risks including supplier dependency, stock shortages, shipping delays, regulatory changes, logistics disruptions and market volatility. Establish appropriate escalation mechanisms for critical supply chain disruptions. Monitor geopolitical, economic, regulatory and market developments that could impact supply continuity. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance or a related discipline. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage. Professional Qualifications: Professional certifications such as any of the following will be an advantage: CIPS- Certified Supply Chain Professional Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Other relevant Supply Chain, Procurement or Logistics certifications. CLTD- Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution CILSCM (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain Management) CPSM Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution Experience: within engineering, industrial equipment, manufacturing, oil & gas, lubricants, industrial supplies, technical products or a related B2B environment will be highly advantageous. Demonstrable experience: managing importation, freight, clearing and logistics operations. Experience: in inventory planning and warehouse coordination. Experience: working with ERP systems. Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience: in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or operations management. Experience: managing supply chains involving international/OEM suppliers will be an advantage. Experience: managing local and international suppliers. At least 4 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Behavioural Competencies: The ideal candidate should possess: Strong commercial awareness.
