You will be responsible for maximizing fleet uptime, controlling fuel/gas costs, ensuring compliance, and using telematics/data to drive efficiency. A key focus is accurate tracking of all CNG/LNG gas takes and maintenance records. Min Qualification: HND Experience: Level: Mid level Experience: Length: 4 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Lagos, Nigeria Job descriptions & requirements: Responsibilities: Fleet Operations & Optimization: Plan and monitor daily truck deployment, routes, and utilization for CNG, LNG, and diesel units. Ensure minimum downtime through proactive scheduling of servicing, MOT, and roadworthiness checks. Coordinate with Dispatch and Drivers to improve turnaround time and asset utilization. Maintain accurate records of all CNG and LNG gas takes: date, truck ID, station, liters/KG, cost, driver, mileage. Reconcile fuel/gas cards and supplier invoices vs telematics consumption to prevent losses/leakage. Analyze CNG/LNG vs diesel cost-per-km and recommend the most economical fuel mix for each route. Liaise with gas vendors, filling stations, and compliance agencies on supply, pricing, and safety standards. Manage telematics, GPS tracking, ELD, and fleet management software. Monitor speeding, idling, route deviation, and harsh braking. Own the fleet dashboard: KPIs like fuel efficiency, gas take variance, breakdown rate, TAT, cost per trip. Generate weekly/monthly reports on fleet performance, gas consumption, maintenance spend, and downtime. Develop and track preventive maintenance schedules for all trucks, with special attention to CNG/LNG tanks, valves, and safety certifications. Ensure all trucks meet FRSC, SON, DPR/NMDPRA, and insurance compliance. Keep records of certificates. Investigate breakdowns, accidents, or gas-related incidents and implement corrective actions. COST CONTROL & VENDOR MANAGEMENT Negotiate and manage vendors for truck maintenance, tyres, gas supply, tracking, and insurance. Control fleet OPEX: fuel/gas, repairs, tolls, fines. Target reduction in cost-per-km quarterly. Train drivers on CNG/LNG safety, eco-driving, and gas take SOPs. Work with HR to monitor driver KPIs and enforce compliance with company policies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Requirements: HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Transport/Logistics, or related field. 4+ years in fleet management, transport operations, or logistics. 2+ years managing CNG/LNG or alternative fuel trucks is a strong advantage. Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, Fleet/TMS software, GPS/telematics platforms. Data analysis skills required. Understanding of CNG/LNG truck operations. Defensive driving, fleet management, or HSE certifications are an added advantage.
