We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Guidance Counsellor & Safeguarding Lead Location: Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities: Assist students in making informed educational and career choices. Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success. Maintain confidential student records and counselling documentation. Provide individual and group counselling services to students. Develop and implement student wellness, mental health, and personal development programs. Support students with academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and career-related concerns. Organize workshops and awareness programs on topics such as emotional well-being, resilience, study skills, and responsible decision-making. Safeguarding and Child Protection: Ensure compliance with safeguarding regulations and best practices. Serve as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Deliver safeguarding training and awareness programs for staff, students, and parents. Lead the implementation and monitoring of the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies. Maintain accurate safeguarding records and ensure confidentiality. Receive, document, and manage safeguarding concerns and referrals appropriately. Coordinate investigations and interventions in collaboration with relevant authorities where necessary. Promote a culture of safety, respect, and student well-being throughout the school community. Qualifications and Requirements: Master’s degree in Counselling, Educational Psychology, Child Development, or a related discipline is an advantage. Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counselling, Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field. Certification or training in Child Protection, Safeguarding, Mental Health, or related areas is an added advantage.
