We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician Location: Sangotedo, Lagos Department: Laboratory and Diagnostics Reports to: Assistant Manager, Laboratory Services Duties and Responsibilities: Purpose: Provide assistance in various functions of the laboratory Lead/encourage multidisciplinary approach for patient’s discharge. Proficiency in performing laboratory inventory. Label, sort and record specimens and organize all information into the computer system Use a Lab Information Management System for specimen tracking, results entry, and reporting. Perform phlebotomy on adults and children Maintain and update laboratory checklists regularly Provide assistance in various functions of the laboratory Operate and manage automatic hematology and chemistry analyzers, pipettes, thermometers, balances, and other lab apparatus. Enhance laboratory services and laboratory reputation. Document patient and family education. Develop and provide the teaching plan utilizing the patient education: manual. Engagement: Identify and communicates abnormal results by alerting supervisory personnel, the patient, physician, or nurse. Communicate with patients and family members in a professional, compassionate and respectful manner to facilitate healthcare delivery as a team member. Delivery: Process and maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced troubleshooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols. Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers by following established standards and procedures Operate sophisticated equipment and instruments to perform diagnostic tests and assays following standard operating procedures. Process and enhances laboratory services and laboratory reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Targeted Specializes Knowledge Minimum qualification of Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited School of Health Technology. Relevant medical laboratory certification will be an added advantage. Up-to-date complete registration and practicing license At least 1-4 years of experience: in a medical laboratory, hospital or clinic. Certification from the Association of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN) Remuneration N151,550 monthly gross. Benefits: Annual Leave.
