The successful candidate will oversee nursing and midwifery operations, coordinate staff activities, maintain high standards of patient care, and ensure compliance with professional and hospital policies. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with nursing, midwifery, and hospital policies and professional standards. Coordinate patient care with doctors, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals. Support the implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives. Supervise staff performance, attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct. Ensure the maternity and nursing units maintain a clean, safe, organised, and professional environment. Monitor the availability and proper use of medical supplies and equipment within the nursing department. Provide effective leadership and supervision to nursing and midwifery staff. Identify staff training needs and support continuous professional development. Coordinate daily nursing and maternity operations within the facility. Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, hygiene, and infection prevention. Handle patient and staff concerns professionally and escalate issues appropriately. Prepare and submit regular departmental reports to management. Prepare and coordinate duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing coverage. Monitor nursing documentation, patient records, reports, and clinical procedures. Requirements: Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a healthcare team. Minimum of 2 years post-clinical experience. Strong knowledge of nursing and maternity care procedures. Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, professionalism, and attention to detail. Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills. Valid and current professional licence. Previous leadership or supervisory experience: in a hospital or maternity setting is an added advantage. Must be a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), or Double Qualified (RN/RM).
