The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems on the rig to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend appropriate repairs. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment. Comply with company HSE procedures and participate in safety activities. Replace worn or damaged components. Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and testing. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair engines, pumps, compressors, generators, and other machinery. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Report equipment defects and potential failures. Ensure tools and workshop equipment are properly maintained. Conduct routine servicing, lubrication, and adjustment of equipment. Qualifications Mechanical maintenance or manufacturer-specific certifications are an advantage. Valid offshore medical fitness certificate. Experience: with diesel engines, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical equipment. Relevant offshore safety certification such as BOSIET/FOET where applicable. Minimum of OND / NABTEB / Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3–5 years relevant experience: in mechanical maintenance, preferably on drilling rigs, offshore vessels, or oil & gas facilities.
