Junior Accountant Job Type Full Time , Onsite Qualification BA/BSc/HND , Professional Certificate Experience: 3 - 7 years Location Lagos Job Field Finance / Accounting / Audit Salary Range ₦150,000 - ₦200,000/month Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support our finance and accounting operations. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting the Finance/Accounts team with day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate should have strong numerical and analytical skills, good attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within a professional accounting environment. Key Responsibilities: Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations. Assist in monitoring and recording income, expenses, purchases, and payments. Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and management accounts. Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records. Assist with payroll preparation and related accounting documentation. Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up on pending payments where required. Assist with expense tracking and budget monitoring. Verify invoices, receipts, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness. Assist with tax and statutory documentation as required. Support internal and external audits by providing relevant financial records and documentation. Ensure accounting transactions are properly recorded and supported with appropriate documentation. Assist with inventory and stock reconciliation where applicable. Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by the Accountant, Finance Manager, or management. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo, or similar platforms is an advantage. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work with deadlines and handle multiple tasks. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. Preferred Qualifications Part-qualified ICAN, ACCA, or other relevant professional certification is an advantage. Previous experience: in a structured finance or accounting department. Experience: with bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, or financial reporting. Experience: using accounting/ERP software.
