Read more about this company Purchasing Manager Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 5 - 7 years Location Abuja Job Field Procurement / Store-keeping / Supply Chain KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money. Lead the end-to-end procurement process for goods, services, and equipment. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and quality. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials in line with hospital needs. Monitor market trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Manage supplier relationships and performance. Collaborate with departments to understand and fulfill their procurement needs. Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports for management. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a healthcare setting. Professional certification such as CIPS, MCIPS, CIPSSM, or equivalent is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, contract management, and supplier management practices. Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Excellent sourcing and supplier evaluation capabilities. Ability to prepare and analyze quotations, bids, and procurement reports. Knowledge of procurement planning and strategic sourcing. Strong cost analysis and budget management skills. Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple procurement requests simultaneously. Good understanding of inventory management principles. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet procurement timelines. Strong contract administration and supplier relationship management skills. Familiarity with healthcare products, medical equipment, pharmaccuticals, and consumables procurement is an added advantage.
