The successful candidate will serve as a key adviser to the Managing Director/CEO on financial performance, controls, liquidity, capital allocation, funding, and strategic business decisions across the company's feed-milling, poultry, farm, commercial, and support operations. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Finance to lead and professionalise the company's entire finance function. The role will also be responsible for building the finance function, strengthening existing processes, and establishing reliable financial reporting and control systems. Key Responsibilities: Strengthen internal financial controls, reconciliations, audit processes, and financial records. Lead, coach, and develop the finance team while maintaining hands-on oversight of critical finance activities. Lead and professionalise the finance function, including finance policies, processes, reporting standards, and team structure. Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and performance analysis. Manage manufacturing costing, including raw materials, feed formulations, yield, wastage, inventory, and product profitability. Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax and statutory requirements. Oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Oversee treasury, cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and financing activities. Prepare financial reports and presentations for Management, the Board, lenders, and investors. Provide commercial and financial analysis to support pricing, capital expenditure, expansion, and other strategic decisions. What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will be expected to: Build and onboard a strong core finance team. Stabilise legacy financial records and clear priority reconciliation issues. Deliver clean and timely month-end financial closes. Establish a robust manufacturing costing model covering feed formulations, yield, wastage, and product profitability. Define Finance's requirements: for the ERP/integrated finance system. Requirements: Demonstrable experience: across financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, working capital, audit, controls, financing, financial modelling, and team leadership. Experience: in poultry, feed milling, food processing, or integrated farming will be an added advantage. Experience: with ERP or integrated finance-system implementation is an advantage. Willingness to be based in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, and work regularly across mills, farms, and other operating locations. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent recognised chartered accounting qualification is essential. Experience: building or professionalising a finance function and improving financial records is strongly preferred. Strong hands-on manufacturing or agribusiness costing experience: is essential, including standard costing, raw-material consumption, yield, wastage, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and product profitability. Hands-on Nigerian tax and statutory compliance experience: is essential. Minimum 10–12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 4 years in a senior finance management, financial control, or full-function leadership role. Ideal Candidate: We are particularly interested in high-performing Finance Managers or Financial Controllers who are ready to take on full functional leadership. The successful candidate must combine strong strategic judgement with hands-on expertise in financial reporting, costing, cash management, controls, tax, and operational finance.
