Job Title: IT Support Officer Location: Kaduna Employment Type: Full-time Designation: Officer II Level: Level_05 Job Summary This position, reporting to the Team Lead, Information Technology, will support the IT unit in delivering high-quality, timely technical services to HSDF employees while collaborating on numerous IT projects and operational improvement initiatives within the unit. While primarily stationed at the Kaduna office, you will provide remote support services to employees, liaise with IT vendors, conduct on-site tests, and provide hands-and-eyes support to ensure progressive operational effectiveness. In addition, you will be responsible for enforcing IT standards and policies, data protection compliance, creating cyber-defence requirements: early in every project life cycle, maintaining IT hardware and network equipment, and ensuring service uptime. Key Responsibilities: Assess, monitor, and report on Microsoft security events and data compliance status. Test new systems against predetermined requirements: before new software products go live. Provide first-level technical support to employees, troubleshooting and resolving minor hardware issues, including component replacements such as keyboards, batteries, RAM, and storage, as well as software and network issues, both remotely and on-site. Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and other IT hardware and peripherals. Support the setup and maintenance of network equipment and monitor network connectivity and service uptime. Log, track, and resolve IT service requests and incidents, escalating complex issues to the Team Lead, Information Technology. Set up user M365 accounts, email, and workstations for new employees and support onboarding and offboarding processes. Carry out routine software installation, updates, and patch management on end-user devices. Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses. Carry out minor hardware repairs and escalate major faults to IT vendors. Follow up with users to support the implementation of IT, security, and data protection policies. Participate in problem-solving and identifying solutions to IT issues or address business needs. Take part in proactive assessments of IT systems and recommend preventive measures. Requirements: The successful candidate is expected to have, and will be tested on, the Must-Have skills above and the following qualifications, technical competencies, and behavioral competencies: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC experience: in an IT support or related role. CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation, or similar entry-level IT certification would be an advantage Hands-on familiarity with computer networks, various operating systems, and basic network administration. Must already have the right tools and environment for a conducive, uninterrupted work-from-home experience. Must be able to work independently as well as work in a team.
