We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Security Officer Location: Lekki / Oniru, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant, disciplined, and responsible Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of the mall, its tenants, visitors, employees, and assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities within the premises, enforcing security procedures, preventing unauthorized access, responding to incidents, and maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times. This role requires alertness, integrity, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and security concerns. Key Responsibilities: Enforce company security policies and procedures Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary Assist in crowd control during events and peak business periods Conduct routine security inspections and surveillance of the facility Patrol assigned areas of the mall to ensure safety and security Monitor and control access to the premises by: Visitors Contractors Staff Vendors Prepare and submit incident and occurrence reports as required Other security breaches Report security risks, hazards, and operational concerns to management promptly Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activities promptly Support management with: Loss prevention initiatives Security risk assessments Emergency preparedness activities Respond promptly to: Safety concerns Customer disturbances Security incidents Emergencies Conduct opening and closing security checks of designated areas Ensure proper documentation of: Visitors’ records Incident logs Security reports Prevent: Trespassing Vandalism Theft Requirements: Good report-writing skills Strong attention to detail and situational awareness Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and night duties when required Should be in their 20s or, at most, early 30's 2–5 years’ experience: in security operations, law enforcement, military service, or a related field Ability to observe and identify potential security threats Minimum of SSCE, OND, or equivalent qualification Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure High level of integrity, discipline, confidentiality, and accountability Good communication and interpersonal skills Physically fit and capable of standing or patrolling for extended periods Strong understanding of: Emergency response procedures Incident reporting Security procedures and protocols Access control systems Preferred Qualifications: Security training certification or relevant professional security qualification Basic knowledge of CCTV operations, fire safety procedures, and first aid will be an added advantage.
