The role requires strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax administration, particularly Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) filings and the ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records across multiple funded projects. The Finance Officer will manage GRENCHI's day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, budget monitoring, statutory tax compliance and donor/grant financial reporting. Key Duties and Responsibilities: And any other responsibilities: assigned to the candidate by the Executive Director as required Administer staff payroll and related statutory deductions. Maintain accurate books of account, ledgers and financial records for GRENCHI and its individual projects Support the enforcement of GRENCHI's financial policies, procedures and internal controls. Process payments, manage petty cash and carry out monthly bank reconciliations. Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external/statutory audits and respond to auditor queries. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns with FIRS (PAYE, WHT, VAT, CIT) and manage any compliance with Anambra State internal revenue requirements. Support the Executive Director and programme leads in developing, tracking and reporting on project and organisational budgets. Prepare accurate, timely financial reports for donors and grant partners, ensure expenditure is properly documented and aligned with grant agreements. Qualifications HND or BSc in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA - part-qualified or fully qualified) is an added advantage. Experience: and Ideal Requirement: Strong organisational skills and ability to meet reporting deadlines. High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage or similar) and strong Sound knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements: (PAYE, WHT, VAT, CIT, NHF). Excellent communication skills. Microsoft Excel skills. A minimum of 3 - 4 years' relevant experience: in a finance/accounting role. NGO or donor-funded project experience: is a strong advantage. Demonstrated, hands-on experience: with FIRS tax filings and the new FIRS Rev360 TaxPro-Max platform.
