Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Supervisor to support its field sales operations. The ideal candidate must have proven experience: supervising Van Sales Representatives (VSRs) and Sales Representatives managing key distributors within the FMCG sector, with strong knowledge of sales, distribution, route-to-market operations, and team performance management. Key Responsibilities: Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and market trends and provide relevant market intelligence. Supervise and coordinate the activities of Van Sales Representatives and Sales Representatives across assigned territories. Coach, motivate, and develop sales representatives to improve productivity and sales performance. Track sales performance and provide regular reports on team and individual performance. Ensure compliance with approved sales processes, pricing, reporting, and company policies. Collaborate with the Sales/Commercial Manager to develop and implement strategies for increasing sales and distribution. Ensure effective execution of sales routes and maximum market coverage. Monitor product availability, stock movement, returns, and other field-level sales activities. Maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and other key trade partners. Work closely with key distributors to ensure effective order generation, product availability, and market penetration. Monitor daily sales activities, route coverage, outlet penetration, and achievement of sales targets. Conduct regular market visits and joint field work with sales representatives to identify opportunities and address performance gaps. Support the team in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales and distribution targets. Identify underperforming territories, routes, products, or team members and implement appropriate corrective actions. Person Specification Strong understanding of route-to-market, distribution, outlet coverage, and field sales operations. Proven ability to manage sales targets and drive team performance. A Bachelor's Degree / HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred. Good knowledge of the Lagos market and FMCG distribution environment. Proven experience: supervising Van Sales Representatives and/or field sales teams. Demonstrable experience: managing FMCG distributors and traditional trade channels. Must be willing to work extensively in the field and conduct regular market visits. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other sales reporting tools. Ability to analyse sales reports and use performance data to make decisions. Minimum of 4 years of relevant sales experience: in the FMCG sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/team leadership capacity. Strong negotiation, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
