Key Responsibilities: Required Experience: & Qualifications Experience: building or supporting data-intensive web or SaaS platforms using APIs, databases, background processing, integrations and production support. Strong equivalent practical experience: may be considered. Good understanding of live or near-real-time data, ETL/ELT, event-driven or message-based systems, data quality controls and operational monitoring. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of hands-on experience: in software engineering, data platforms, cloud technology, digital products or technology operations. Strong candidates with substantial project experience: may also be considered. Strong problem-solving, documentation and communication skills. Technical Skills & Knowledge: Streaming & Messaging: Kafka, Redpanda, RabbitMQ, cloud queues or equivalent technologies. Software & Web: Python using FastAPI, Django or Flask; SQL; Node.js/TypeScript, Java, .NET or PHP; JavaScript/TypeScript with React, Vue or Angular. APIs & Integration: REST APIs, GraphQL where appropriate, WebSockets or server-sent events, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, webhooks, API gateways, rate limiting and third-party integrations. Candidates do not need to have used every tool listed. Strong capability in the core areas, sound technical judgement and the ability to learn and deepen expertise are important. Data Platforms: PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch; Pandas, NumPy, ETL/ELT, Airflow, Dagster or Prefect, dbt, data validation and reconciliation.
