We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Project Assistant Vacancy ID: VAC-69828 Location: Jalingo, Taraba Overview of position Under the overall and direct supervision of the DTM Programme Officer, and in close coordination with the DTM Snr. Programme Associate, the successful candidate’s primary role will be to provide administrative and overall project support for the implementation of the Displacement Tracking Matrix project in Nigeria. Role objectives Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information. Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics. Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation. Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc. Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities. Perform other related duties as assigned Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor. Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records. Project reporting: This role will work under the overall and direct supervision of the DTM Programme Officer, and in close coordination with the DTM Snr. Programme Associate. Education: and Experience: Strong logistics skills related to the implementation of project activities. Good communication skills and proven ability to work in a team. In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; Ability to independently carry out tasks. High level of computer literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Maintains high ethical standards and acts in a manner consistent with organizational principles/rules and standards of conduct. Respects and promotes individual and cultural differences. Encourages diversity and inclusion. Demonstrates ability to work in a composed, competent and committed manner and exercises careful judgment in meeting day-to-day challenges. Shows compassion for others, makes people feel safe, respected and fairly treated. Excellent attention to detail and ability to collect statistical information accurately and maintain records. Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming. Prior work experience: with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Ability to work effectively with government counterparts. Experience: in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and, Working knowledge of the local languages in the Northeast, north-west and north-central. Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). Ability to multi-task and prioritize required. Knowledge of financial rules and regulations. Experience: in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations; Ability to work effectively with different levels within and outside the organization and with colleagues from various cultural and professional backgrounds.
