The incumbent organizes and packs outbound shipments as needed and ensures the warehouse storage temperature are monitored and data accurately kept. The incumbent will receive, unpack, and shelve incoming shipments as needed. HJFMRI Nigeria is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to be responsible for the inspection, receipt of all critical health and other supplies, including all warehouse operations. The incumbent will assist in the documentation of warehouse operation’s reports for all items. This position will be in support of HJFMRI Nigeria and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research Africa-Nigeria activities. Responsibilities: Controlling warehouse facilities to ensure commodities are kept in good condition, it includes e.g. monitoring temperature in the warehouse and ensuring that products requiring cold chain are suitably stored, received, and prepared to be shipped appropriately according to set standards and required shipping protocols. Receiving orders and deliveries, identifying potential disparities between PO and delivery notes/shipping manifest, and reporting them, and store in accordance with standards and policies Ensuring good storage conditions of all commodities, including cold chain commodities, based on their unique requirements: and in accordance with set standards to ensure commodity continuous availability. Following up stock levels with regards to alarms thresholds, stock outs, expiry dates and commodities to expire in the following 6 months. Ensuring that items to be quarantined (batch recalls, expired or damaged items) are removed from the stock and safely locked. Ensuring correct fill-in entries on the bin cards and warehouse management software. Ensure that equipment is received and assets management functions are performed. Ensure that monthly, annual stock counting and spot checks are undertaken systematically and periodically May perform other duties and responsibilities: as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training roles. Requirements: Qualification: Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or GED Physical Capabilities: Operating motor vehicles, machinery, and/or power tools. Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects. Lifting: Requires lifting materials over 25 lbs. Other Requirements: Proactive, resourceful, solutions oriented and results-oriented Familiarity with logistics and inventory management of health commodities Ethical conduct in accordance with established organizational codes of ethics. Good working knowledge of MS Office package (Excel, Word). Experience: with warehouse management software is highly desirable. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, stand for long hours and lift minimum of 20kg. Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail with good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
