Job Summary

The Public Health Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring public health programs, promoting health awareness, conducting community outreach activities, and supporting disease prevention and health promotion initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals, community stakeholders, and relevant departments to improve public health awareness and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement public health programs and community health initiatives.
- Conduct health education, awareness campaigns, and community outreach activities.
- Promote disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and general wellness.
- Identify public health challenges within target communities and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret public health data to support decision-making.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of public health programs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders.
- Prepare accurate reports on public health activities, findings, and program outcomes.
- Support health screenings, vaccination awareness, and other preventive healthcare initiatives where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with relevant public health regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies.

- Successful implementation of public health programs.
- Number of community outreach and health awareness activities conducted.
- Level of community participation and engagement.

- Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Community Health, Environmental Health, Health Education, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in public health, community health, or health promotion.
- A Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of public health principles, disease prevention, and health promotion strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and community engagement skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret health-related data.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant reporting tools.
- Professional certification or registration with a relevant regulatory body, where applicable, is an added advantage.
