Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school’s ICT infrastructure, supporting staff and students, maintaining systems and equipment, and ensuring the effective and reliable use of technology across the school.
We are seeking a competent, experienced, proactive, and solutions-oriented ICT professional to join our team.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain accurate records of ICT assets, repairs, replacements and maintenance activities.
- Promote cybersecurity, responsible technology use and data protection practices.
- Recommend appropriate technology upgrades and improvements to management.
- Train and guide staff and students on the effective use of relevant ICT tools and platforms.
- Ensure regular maintenance, security and proper functioning of ICT equipment.
- Provide timely technical support to staff, students and management.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, data storage and backups where applicable.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, update and troubleshoot computer hardware, software and operating systems.
- Perform other ICT-related duties as may be assigned by management.
- Monitor and maintain the school’s network, Wi-Fi and internet systems.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of school management systems and digital platforms.
- Manage and maintain the school’s computers, network infrastructure, internet connectivity, printers, projectors, CCTV and other ICT equipment.
- Provide ICT support during school events, meetings, examinations and presentations.
- Support the effective use of technology in teaching, learning and school administration.
- Requirement
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant professional experience in ICT support, systems administration, networking or a similar role.
- Previous experience working in a school or educational environment will be an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Google or other relevant ICT certifications will be an advantage.
- Must possess excellent professional conduct, integrity and reliability.
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in ICT infrastructure management and technical support.
- Required Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to technical issues.
- Ability to manage ICT equipment and maintain proper documentation.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity, data protection and backup procedures.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software and operating systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and other productivity tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of networking, Wi-Fi configuration and internet connectivity.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer-service mindset with patience and professionalism.
