The ideal candidate will help maintain accurate financial records, monitor expenses and inventory costs, manage payments and collections, and provide financial reports to support the growth of the furniture business.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the company’s financial records and day-to-day accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank statements, cash records, and other financial accounts.
- Track the cost of furniture production, including raw materials, labor, transportation, and other production expenses.
- Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports for management.
- Support management in financial planning and decision-making.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and customer balances.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax and statutory requirements.
- Identify financial discrepancies and provide recommendations to management.
- Prepare budgets and monitor actual expenses against approved budgets.
- Process payroll and maintain accurate employee payment records.
- Monitor daily sales, expenses, income, and cash flow.
- Monitor outstanding customer payments and follow up on receivables.
- Assist with pricing and costing of furniture products to ensure profitability.
- Work closely with Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Production teams to ensure proper financial controls.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting entries.
- Monitor inventory and reconcile stock records with financial records.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and payment records.
Requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- 2 - 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, furniture, retail, or a related industry.
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
- Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Good understanding of inventory and product costing.
- Bachelor's Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage.
