Job Summary
We are looking for a competent, detail-oriented, and highly organized Accountant to manage the company’s financial records, transactions, reporting, and accounting operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring income and expenses, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that accounting procedures and financial controls are properly followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and financial regulations.
- Monitor company expenses and ensure proper documentation and authorization.
- Record daily sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and other financial transactions.
- Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial planning.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts, supplier accounts, and other ledger accounts.
- Assist with payroll preparation and other financial obligations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting entries.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents.
- Track customer payments and follow up on outstanding balances when required.
- Work closely with management and other departments to provide accurate financial information for decision-making.
- Identify accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, and potential financial risks.
- Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
- Support the preparation of information required for audits.
Requirements
- & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ core accounting experience.
- Must be willing to relocate to the assigned work location where applicable.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of account reconciliation, bookkeeping, payables, receivables, and cash management.
Experience
in the building materials, trading, distribution, or haulage industry will be an added advantage.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
ICAN certification or professional qualification is an added advantage.
