Job Description
- Analyze production costs and recommend cost-control measures to improve profitability.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
- Assist management with financial forecasting and strategic planning.
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls and accounting processes.
- Monitor inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and coordinate with the production/warehouse team on stock movement records.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, WHT, company income tax) and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies (FIRS, State IRS).
- Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow monitoring.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budgets, and variance analyses.
- Manage cost accounting functions, including product costing, raw material valuation, and production overhead allocation.
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is required or in view.
- Sound understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing methods.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with proven experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment (beverage industry experience is an added advantage).
