Agricultural Science Teacher

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, supporting students' academic and personal development, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and contributing to the overall growth and vision of the Academy.

We are seeking a dedicated, responsible, and passionate Secondary School Teacher who is committed to academic excellence, student development, discipline, and Christian values.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students during assigned duties, activities, examinations, assemblies, and school programmes.
• Ensure compliance with the school's policies, procedures, safeguarding standards, and code of conduct.
• Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding students' academic performance and behaviour.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
• Assess students' academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Encourage students to develop good character, leadership skills, responsibility, confidence, and respect for others.
• Prepare lesson notes, schemes of work, assignments, tests, examinations, and other instructional materials.
• Integrate Christian values and principles into teaching and student interactions where appropriate.
• Maintain classroom discipline and promote a respectful, safe, and productive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and student performance.
• Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, workshops, school events, and extracurricular activities.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, school administrators, and support staff.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the School Management.
• Identify students who require additional academic support and work with them to improve their performance.
• Teach assigned subjects effectively and ensure students understand the learning objectives.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching methods.

Requirements

• Education:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (B.Ed., B.Sc., B.A., B.Tech., or equivalent) in the relevant subject or related field.
• Additional professional teaching qualifications or certifications will be an advantage.
• A NCE may be considered for appropriate teaching positions, particularly at the Junior Secondary level.
• Possession of TRCN registration/licence or eligibility for registration is an advantage.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds is an advantage.
• Experience preparing students for WAEC, NECO, BECE, or other recognized examinations is an advantage.
• Experience teaching the Nigerian secondary school curriculum is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a reputable school is preferred.
• Other Requirements:
• Must maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.
