Established in 2016, Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (Heritage Energy) is an affiliate of Heritage Oil Limited (HOIL) a Jersey-headquartered international Oil and Gas company. Heritage Energy is also the Operator of the flagship Asset, OML 30 in the Niger Delta, which is a Joint Venture Partnership between NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited (SNRL).

Job Summary

The Asset Performance Manager (APM) is a senior leadership role within HEOSL, reporting functionally to the General Manager Reservoir Development and Strategic Integration and working closely with the COO, accountable for maximising asset value through integrated planning, disciplined execution and performance optimisation across the full production value chain, while acting as the single point of integration to ensure plans are delivered, deviations are actively managed, and performance excellence is achieved.

Key Accountabilities

• Asset Value Delivery & Ownership:
• The role drives economic decision-making and prioritisation across all activities within the Asset, ensuring that resources are deployed to maximise value and that trade-offs are understood and actively managed.
• The APM ensures that asset performance remains fully aligned with HEOSL strategic objectives and JV partner expectations, providing clear visibility of performance, risks and opportunities.
• The role drives disciplined execution and sustained performance improvement by aligning operational delivery with strategic objectives and ensuring that value is consistently realised from the asset.
• The APM leads the optimisation of production and uptime, reduction of deferment, improvement in operating cost per barrel, and enhancement of asset recovery and lifecycle performance.
• The APM is accountable for influencing and driving the delivery of safe, reliable, efficient production, providing clear leadership and integration across the full value chain to ensure that asset performance meets or exceeds business expectations.
• Integrated Planning & Delivery (ADP Ownership):
• The Asset Performance Manager supports the translation of strategy into prioritised, deliverable work programmes with clearly defined value outcomes, ensuring that plans are realistic, integrated and aligned with cross-functional resources and constraints.
• The APM actively manages the ADP with a dynamic approach, evolving in response to changes in reservoir performance, operational conditions and commercial drivers, while maintaining focus on delivering sustained asset value.
• The APM owns the development, integration and delivery of the Asset Development Plan (ADP) across all disciplines, ensuring it represents a ‘single source of truth’ perspective of the asset. The role ensures full alignment between long-term (20Q), mid-term (8Q) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) horizons, maintaining consistency between strategic intent and executable plans.
• Performance Management & Intervention:
• The Asset Performance Manager supports regular COO-chaired performance reviews, providing clear visibility of performance against plan and identifying gaps and emerging risks.
• Through active engagement, the role challenges stakeholders on delivery performance and drives corrective action where required, escalating to the COO as necessary, and ensuring that underperformance is addressed.
• Critical delivery risks are escalated appropriately, with the APM supporting and driving resolution.
• The APM is accountable for defining and governing a robust asset-wide framework for performance management and intervening when performance is (observed as potentially) degrading. The framework covers production delivery, capital efficiency, risk exposure and plan adherence.
• Portfolio Optimisation, Functional Alignment & Decision Support:
• The Asset Performance Manager drives system-level optimisation by breaking down functional silos and ensuring decisions maximise overall asset value.
• Through structured challenge and targeted intervention, the role tests business cases, assumptions and delivery plans, and leads trade-off decisions across competing priorities such as production, reliability, cost and long-term value.
• This enables clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership and JV partners, supporting timely decisions and maximising value delivery.
• Portfolio optimisation, functional alignment and decision support focuses on identifying and prioritising asset opportunities based on value, feasibility and readiness; while ensuring plans, resources and execution are fully aligned within a single integrated asset plan.
• Risk & Resilience Management:
• Through this, the APM supports and reinforces disciplined risk management and informed decision-making.
• Accountable for the verification of all safety, production, delivery, and operational risks, that they are comprehensively identified, assessed and appropriately mitigated across the asset. The APM ensures that risk exposure is fully understood and transparently managed. The APM validates that robust contingency plans are in place and that sufficient resilience is embedded within the ADP to respond effectively to deviations and emerging risks.
• The APM role ensures that asset risks are consistently communicated, visible and escalated in a timely manner to senior leadership and JV partners, with a clear articulation of potential impacts, mitigation strategies and decision requirements.
• ESG, HSE & Sustainability Integration:
• Environmental compliance is consistently upheld through cross-functional integration, with ESG factors embedded within both planning and optimisation processes to ensure that asset performance is delivered in a way that balances operational efficiency with long-term sustainability.
• The APM ensures that safety is treated as a non-negotiable priority, while emissions management and reduction, particularly greenhouse gases, are actively incorporated into planning and operational decision-making.
• Leadership & People:

Responsibilities

• centre on leading and developing a high-performing Asset Performance Team, while building a strong culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making and collaboration across functions. The APM acts as a visible leader and integrator across the asset, influencing behaviours beyond direct reports and reinforcing performance discipline and alignment.
• The role also involves coaching and guiding stakeholders in integrated planning, prioritisation and performance delivery, ensuring consistent application of best practices and strengthening capability across the wider organisation.
• Qualifications &

Experience

working closely with executive leadership (e.g. COO level), including supporting performance reviews, providing decision insight, and shaping strategic delivery

across the full production value chain, including subsurface, wells, facilities, projects and production operations

Proven

as a senior leader within upstream oil and gas operations, with accountability for performance delivery across complex assets

Demonstrated track record of driving asset performance, optimisation and value delivery, including production, cost, recovery and risk outcomes

Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, holding senior functional leaders to account for delivery

Exposure to digital performance management systems and data analytics platforms

Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and emissions reduction programmes in oil & gas

Minimum 15 years in upstream oil & gas, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

Demonstrated capability in value-based decision making and trade-off management across competing operational priorities

operating in challenging or complex operating environments, with a proven ability to deliver sustained performance improvement

Deeply experienced in performance management, intervention and recovery, including identifying underperformance and driving corrective action

Previous

in a standalone integrator or Chief of Staff-type role within a large asset.

Strong track record in managing complex stakeholder and JV partner environments, building alignment and navigating governance structures

in full-cycle asset development from discovery through to late-life management

Strong

in integrated planning and execution, including development and delivery of multi-horizon plans (e.g. long-term, mid-term and annual plans)
