Seven Up Bottling Company is one of the largest and oldest beverage manufacturing companies in Nigeria, operating nine automated bottling plants across the country.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: AI and Automation Lead
Location: Lagos
Industry: FMCG
Job Summary
Work with the Head of Business Solutions and relevant business owners to jointly identify, select and develop a working prototype. Agree its scope, success measures and delivery timeline after assessing business value, feasibility, data readiness, risks and available resources.
Lead the practical delivery of AI and automation solutions that improve how SBC works and create measurable business value.
Key Accountabilities
- Business Discovery and Prioritisation:
- Evaluate requests through the shared intake process, comparing process improvement, existing system capabilities, rules-based automation and AI.
- Understand business problems, map existing processes and assess whether an opportunity should be pursued before selecting technology.
- Monitor, track, and report on organizational AI capability maturity and readiness over time.
- Establish a structured AI assessment framework for business units to identify and evaluate automation opportunities.
- Define requirements, business ownership, baselines and acceptance criteria; recommend priorities to the Head of Business Solutions.
- Promote AI literacy, training, and solution adoption across organizational functions.
- Hands-On AI and Automation Delivery:
- Develop the jointly selected prototype, demonstrate progress, incorporate feedback and progress through agreed pilot and release gates.
- Integrate approved AI capabilities into workflows, including document processing, information extraction, analysis and knowledge access.
- Implement human approvals, exception handling, monitoring and recovery mechanisms appropriate to each solution.
- Design, build, test and support workflows using n8n, APIs, code and appropriate low-code tools.
- Integration, Security and Operational Readiness:
- Apply least-privilege access, secure credential management, data protection and appropriate logging and retention.
- Collaborate with platform owners on Google Workspace Enterprise Plus, SAP S/4HANA RISE, internal applications and approved AI services.
- Agree operational ownership, support, rollback and handover arrangements before production release.
- Maintain code and workflow versions using SBC’s engineering practices and on-premise Azure DevOps environment.
- Measurement and Continuous Improvement:
- Distinguish expected benefits from verified results and work with business owners and Finance to validate material financial claims.
- Evaluate AI outputs against representative test cases, including accuracy, reliability, limitations and cost.
- Measure results against agreed baselines, including effort, cycle time, quality, adoption and operating cost.
- Recommend whether solutions should be improved, scaled, paused or stopped based on evidence.
- CoE Development and Adoption:
- Work with Google, Descasio and other approved partners on technical enablement and knowledge transfer.
- Report progress, risks, dependencies and decisions to the Head of Business Solutions.
- Coach developers and support AI Champions with discovery, testing, feedback and adoption.
- Establish reusable components, documentation and proportionate delivery standards.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of secure development, data protection and operational support.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on delivery and support of business automation or software integrations, including an AI-enabled workflow or application.
- Experience with Google Workspace automation, AppSheet, Apps Script or Google Cloud; SAP or other ERP integrations; Azure DevOps Server; FMCG or manufacturing operations; retrieval-augmented generation, document processing or applied machine learning; mentoring engineers or contributing to an AI or automation CoE
- Experience evaluating AI outputs, controlling usage costs and applying appropriate human review.
- Practical proficiency in Python or JavaScript, REST APIs, authentication, structured data handling, SQL and Git.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience.
- Strong business analysis, problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to build and troubleshoot n8n workflows, with experience in approvals, error handling and monitoring.
