Job Title: Deputy General Manager, Electrical
Location: Gboko Plant, Benue
Job Summary
Plan, organize, monitor and coordinate implementation of Electrical Distribution System, Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance systems and services in the plant to ensure maximum plant availability at optimum cost and reduction in power consumption.
To provide critical direction to the sectional (operations) manager in ensuring that the equipment availability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure electrical maintenance activities are performed in a safe, professional manner, in accordance with industry standards, environmental restrictions, original equipment manufacturers’ recommendations and DCP Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensure safekeeping of materials, tools, and equipment.
Ensure compliance of all electrical equipment in accordance with DCP/local safety regulations.
Responsible for day to day maintenance activities & to ensure trouble free operation of all Electrical equipment’s from crusher to packing plant including power plant.
All critical Equipment regular health checks to be carried out with Department person and MIPS to ensure the equipment availability.
Ensuring interruption power distribution to meet the plant requirement.
Solving day to day Problems in plant operation.
Ensuring power report preparation on daily basis and monitoring the same on sustainable basis.
Energy conservation best practice to be shared among the department peers and co department colleagues and ensuring the same on implementation part.
Keep track on stores inventories and consumption on regular basis.
Organizing awareness in house training programme to all the department people on both safety and operation and maintenance in core field on regular intervals.
Enforce accident prevention and occupational health work procedures and regulations.
Oversee technical staffs in the performance of their duties and provide expertise as required.
Ensuring Equipment availability by maintaining enough critical spares, proper preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance.
Focus on Energy saving aspect.
Proffer solutions to solve electrical problems to ensure optimization of equipment reliability.
Other additional assignments as entrusted by the management.
Co-coordinating with NEPA / JOS authorities on time to time basis to ensure proper power utilization from grid power.
Coordinate and monitor implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance in conjunction with relevant Section Heads.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of twenty-Five (25) years of post-qualification experience
Skills and Competencies:
Implementing RCA techniques and WHY WHY Analysis and giving relevant training to peers on this technique.
Good knowledge of safety legislation and rules
Good knowledge of cement products and cement manufacturing processes.
Extensive knowledge electrical engineering and industrial automation,
Good knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and TPM
Good Knowledge in SAP all relevant modules like MM / PM etc.,
Good oral and written communication skills
Expert knowledge of maintenance management methods, of predictive inspection tools and of CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System),
Innovation & Creativity
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Developing model Area’s and Equipment’s all around the plant.
Organizational Awareness
Making SOP’s / OPL / GTF / Do’s and Don’ts on all relevant locations.
