The BDE will focus on securing partnerships with key distributors, penetrating the market through channel distribution strategies, and ensuring products are widely adopted by companies that traditionally rely on imported safety boots. This role requires significant networking, attending industry events, and cultivating relationships with key players in the sector. The ideal candidate must have strong industry contacts, be available for travel, and be willing to work on weekends when necessary.
The Business Development Executive (B2B) is responsible for driving sales growth, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding the company’s market presence in Nigeria’s oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, and construction industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Expansion & Sales Strategy:
- Identify, target, and acquire clients within the oil & gas, manufacturing, construction, and industrial sectors, including minor servicing companies purchasing below 200 pairs of safety footwear.
- Establish relationships with key distributors in the oil & gas and manufacturing sectors, ensuring they partner with Yikodeen for offtakes and market distribution.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to approach companies in the PETAN list and sell directly to them.
- Research and engage major oil and gas projects, particularly those where imported safety boots are being used, to enforce NCDMB local content policy and advocate for locally manufactured PPE products.
- Lead business development efforts by sourcing, discovering, and analyzing major oil and gas projects where Yikodeen can supply safety footwear.
- Channel Distribution & Relationship Management:
- Act as a liaison between Yikodeen and major buyers, ensuring long-term contracts and strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key industry stakeholders to drive repeat business.
- Ensure that distributors successfully market and sell our products to their clients who traditionally purchase imported safety footwear.
- Develop and manage a network of distributors and partners to increase product penetration.
- Manage key accounts and ensure strong client relationship management to drive customer retention.
- Serve as a Channel Distribution Manager, ensuring that products are well-distributed across markets.
- Industry Engagement & Networking:
- Stay updated on trends in the industry and provide insights on new opportunities and market shifts.
- Actively seek and participate in formal and casual events where relationship-building opportunities with key decision-makers are available.
- Attend industry events, trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking sessions to connect with potential clients and key players in the oil & gas and manufacturing industries.
- Revenue Growth & Sales Target Execution:
- Meet and exceed revenue and sales targets set by the company.
- Work closely with the finance team to structure competitive pricing models and payment terms for clients.
- Negotiate and close deals with minor and major oil and gas servicing companies, energy firms, and industrial manufacturers.
- Develop detailed sales reports, market analyses, and projections to guide company sales strategies.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Effectiveness in identifying and closing deals with firms involved in major oil and gas projects.
- Strength and quality of key account management and customer retention.
- Volume of sales and revenue growth from the energy, oil & gas, and manufacturing sectors.
- Success in securing contracts from companies in the PETAN list.
- Number of new accounts acquired, including minor oil & gas servicing companies.
- Expansion of the distributor network and increased market penetration.
- Attendance and participation in industry networking events leading to new business opportunities.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to develop and manage strategic partnerships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on market expansion.
- Strong industry network and ability to gain access to key players in target industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven track record in identifying and securing high-value business opportunities.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in PPE, manufacturing, oil & gas, or industrial equipment.
