We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will lead AYGF’s resource mobilization,strategic partnerships, and business growth initiatives.
The role is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing winning proposals, strengthening donor relationships, and ensuring alignment of AYGF’s programs with donor priorities and organizational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong proposal-writing expertise with a proven track record of developing successful proposals that have secured funding.
- Represent AYGF in relevant donor, partnership, and stakeholder engagements.
- Lead the development of high-quality concept notes, expressions of interest, and full proposals aligned with donor priorities.
- Support AYGF’s fundraising, resource mobilization, and sustainability strategies.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with donors, partners, government agencies, INGOs, and private-sector stakeholders.
- Mentor staff on proposal development, donor engagement, and partnership building,
- Identify and pursue strategic funding opportunities, including grants, institutional donors, foundations and partnership opportunities.
- Monitor donor trends and funding opportunities and maintain an active proposal pipeline.
- Coordinate with Program, Finance, and MEAL teams to ensure proposals are technically sound, competitive, and donor-compliant.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Strong knowledge of donor requirements, funding processes, and partnership development.
- Demonstrated ability to identify funding opportunities and manage multiple proposals within tight deadlines.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in business development, fundraising, resource mobilization, proposal development, or a related role, preferably within the NGO/development sector.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, networking, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent proposal writing, research, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
- Proven track record of developing successful proposals that have secured funding from institutional donors, foundations, INGOs, government agencies, CSR programmes, or other funding sources.
