We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager – FMCG to lead the market expansion and sales growth of our snack products.
We are looking for a hands-on FMCG professional with 4–8+ years of relevant experience who understands how to take products into the market, open new sales channels, acquire distributors and wholesalers, build retail networks and generate sustainable revenue.
This is not a routine field sales role. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, opening doors, building distribution and turning market opportunities into measurable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies for market penetration and sales growth.
- Identify and open new markets, territories and sales channels.
- Acquire and develop distributors, wholesalers, supermarkets, retailers and key accounts.
- Build and manage strong relationships with trade partners and major customers.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, margins and distribution opportunities.
- Develop an effective route-to-market and distribution network for company products.
- Drive product availability, placement and visibility across targeted outlets.
- Identify new business opportunities and convert them into recurring sales.
- Monitor competitors, pricing, market trends and customer demand.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and business partners.
- Work closely with Management to identify opportunities for increased revenue and market share.
- Provide regular reports on business development activities, sales performance and market opportunities.

Requirements
Minimum of OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, Economics or a related field.
4–5 years of proven experience in FMCG, preferably in food, snacks, beverages or related consumer products.
Proven experience in business development, sales, distribution or trade marketing.
Demonstrable track record of opening new markets, acquiring customers and growing sales.
Strong understanding of the Lagos FMCG market and distribution landscape.
Existing relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, supermarkets and key trade channels will be an advantage.
Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills.
Commercially intelligent, proactive, target-driven and results-oriented.
Ability to work independently, identify opportunities and execute with minimal supervision.
Willingness to undertake extensive field activities and travel within assigned markets.

You should be able to identify the right channels, approach decision-makers, secure business relationships, establish distribution and ultimately move products and generate revenue.

Compensation
Competitive Salary (N200,000 – N300,000 monthly) plus Performance-Based Incentives
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and demonstrated value.
