We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Officer – Asset Management to drive client acquisition, business growth, and revenue generation for the company’s asset management and investment products.
The successful candidate will identify and develop new business opportunities, build strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, promote investment solutions, and achieve assigned business development and revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the asset management and investment sector.
- Prospect for high-net-worth individuals, corporate clients, SMEs, institutions, and retail investors.
- Promote and sell asset management products, investment portfolios, mutual funds, fixed-income products, and other approved investment solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, investment briefings, and product demonstrations.
- Understand clients’ financial objectives, investment preferences, and risk profiles and recommend appropriate products within approved guidelines.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, corporate partnerships, industry events, digital channels, and direct prospecting.
- Prepare business proposals, presentations, quotations, and investment-related sales materials.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up on prospective clients.
- Meet or exceed assigned AUM, revenue, client acquisition, and sales targets.
- Collaborate with investment, operations, compliance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and service delivery.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activities, investment trends, and emerging business opportunities.
- Prepare regular business development reports, sales forecasts, and pipeline updates.
- Support client retention and identify opportunities for additional investments and cross-selling.
- Ensure all client acquisition and sales activities comply with applicable regulatory and company requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, client interactions, opportunities, and conversions in the CRM or approved reporting system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Banking & Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years’ experience in business development, investment sales, asset management, wealth management, banking, financial services, or a related field.
- Proven track record in sales, client acquisition, or revenue generation.
- Strong understanding of investment and financial products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong business development and prospecting abilities.
- Ability to work with sales targets and performance metrics.
- Good analytical and financial reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales management tools.
- Professional certifications in finance, investment, or related disciplines will be an advantage.
