We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Cashier
Location: Abuja
Industry: Manufacturing
Job Summary
The role requires a high level of honesty, accuracy, and accountability in handling financial transactions.
The Cashier will be responsible for receiving and recording payments for goods sold or released from the warehouse, issuing receipts, reconciling daily transactions, and maintaining accurate cash and payment records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit daily cash and transaction reports to the supervisor or accountant.
- Reconcile daily cash collections and electronic payments against sales records.
- Receive and process customer payments for goods purchased through cash, bank transfers, POS, or other approved payment channels.
- Verify payment confirmations before authorizing the release of goods, in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all cash collected is securely handled and deposited or handed over according to company policy.
- Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales, payments received, refunds, and outstanding balances.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience as a cashier, sales cashier, or in a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of cash handling, payment processing, and daily reconciliation.
- High level of honesty, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to verify bank transfers and use POS terminals.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum of an OND or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
