Job Summary
The COO will drive operational excellence, strategic execution, and sustainable growth in line with the company’s vision.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and profitability across its multi-sector activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to Nigerian and international environmental, health, and safety standards, particularly in waste management and petroleum operations.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement business strategies that align with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor budgets, optimize resource allocation, and drive cost efficiency across all business units.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, clients, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance.
- Operational Leadership: Direct and manage daily operations across petroleum products marketing, waste management, pollution control, haulage, and marine services.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities for expansion in petroleum supply, environmental consultancy, and marine logistics.
- Key Requirements
- Strong understanding of petroleum marketing, pollution control technologies, marine logistics, and Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in Oil & Gas, waste management, or environmental consultancy, with at least 7 years in senior leadership.
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage complex operations, and deliver results in challenging environments.
Knowledge and Skills
Strategic Vision: Ability to align operational execution with long-term business goals.
Communication: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Innovation: Drive adoption of sustainable practices and modern technologies in waste management and petroleum operations.
Risk Management: Skilled in identifying and mitigating operational, financial, and environmental risks.
Salary: N2,000,000 – N2,500,000 per month (Net Salary) (However, the salary can be negotiated upward depending on the candidate’s experience)
