The College Librarian oversees acquisition, cataloguing and circulation of books, journals and e-resources, - ensures automation and digitalization of library operations, provides reference and research support, ensures the library meets NBTE accreditation standards and best practices.
The College Librarian is the head of the library responsible for developing, organizing, and managing all library services to support teaching, learning, and research.
Qualifications &
Experience
Candidates applying for this post must possess:
Candidate should possess basic information communication technology (ICT) skills.
Academic Qualification: At least a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLS) from a recognized university. A Ph.D. will be an added advantage.
Publications: Evidence of substantial scholarly publications in reputable peer-
Age Limit: Shall not be a person above 60 years of age at the point of assumption of Office as the College Librarian.
Council of Nigeria (LRCN). Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Librarians' Registration.
A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification cognate experience.
Health: Must be of good physical and mental health.
Rank: Must not be below the rank of Chief Librarian or equivalent in a tertiary institution for at least 3 years on the rank.
Qualities:
All Candidates must be morally sound, of impeccable character and not be likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest.
Terms of Appointment, Conditions of Service & Remuneration
Tenure:
The appointment is for a period of four (4) years from the date of appointment and shall be eligible for re-appointment for another term of four (4) years and no more.
Remuneration:
The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy allowances as may be approved by the governing Council of the College from time to time.
