Job Summary
The Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of staff, management, and company property across Abuja and, where required, other locations.
The ideal candidate must have excellent, first-hand knowledge of Abuja's roads, districts, and routes, and must be able to navigate the city confidently without relying on GPS or third-party guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Report any accidents, mechanical issues, or delays promptly to supervisors.
- Ensure the safety and security of passengers and any goods being transported.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly for official assignments and staff movement.
- Assist with errands, deliveries, and dispatch of documents/items as required.
- Conduct routine checks on the vehicle (fuel, oil, tyres, lights, etc.) and report faults promptly.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.
- Ensure strict compliance with traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle in clean, roadworthy condition at all times.
- Navigate all routes within Abuja (and environs) accurately and efficiently without needing directions or navigation apps.
Requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent and accurate knowledge of Abuja roads, districts, and routes without guidance (mandatory).
- Minimum of SSCE/OND or equivalent qualification.
- Must know how to handle manual and automatic vehicles.
- Physically fit, alert, and punctual.
- Good knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
- Minimum of 3 years' proven driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no history of accidents due to negligence.
- Valid Nigerian driver's license (mandatory).
- Honesty, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility.
