Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting and efficient operation of electrical systems and production equipment within a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably within PVC/plastics manufacturing, extrusion or a related production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support installation, commissioning and modification of electrical equipment.
- Work closely with mechanical, production and other technical teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Support the operation and maintenance of extrusion and other manufacturing machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Diagnose faults in PLC, automation and control systems.
- Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns and repairs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot motors, control panels, sensors, drives and other industrial electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimise production downtime.
Requirements
- B.Eng ./ B.Sc. or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, plastics, PVC, extrusion or a similar production environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control-system faults effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Candidates with relevant PVC / plastic extrusion experience (2+ years) will be highly preferred.
- Practical knowledge of PLC systems, industrial automation, control panels, motors and electrical drives.
