As an Engineering Manager (Identity) at FairMoney, you will lead an engineering squad responsible for building and maintaining reliable identity and KYC solutions that support our products and customers across markets.
You will combine strong people leadership with a hands-on technical background, working closely with engineers, Product, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
You will play a key role in shaping the squad’s technical direction, engineering practices, and overall performance.

- Driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable and resilient distributed systems;
- Contributing to engineering strategy and helping shape the technology roadmap for Identity.
- Managing team performance, growth, hiring, and development while ensuring the squad has the right skills and support to succeed;
- Leading, mentoring, and developing engineering squads while fostering a strong culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement;
- Monitoring system performance and reliability, identifying areas for improvement, and driving continuous technical improvements;
- Providing technical leadership for identity, authentication, KYC, and related backend systems;
- Supporting engineers in solving complex technical challenges and making sound engineering decisions;
- Our Technical Stack
- Our ML pipeline is API-Flask (Python);
- We run our CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions.
- Our customer-facing product is an Android application;
- We are hosted on AWS: Kubernetes, SNS, SQS, Lambdas, RDS Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, and Kinesis;
- It communicates with Ruby on Rails or Go-lang backends (Sidekiq, RSpec);
- Prototype of a data warehouse on GCP (GCS, BigQuery, Cloud Composer);
- Basic Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on
Experience
with backend development and distributed systems;
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, testing, CI/CD, and system reliability;
2+ years of
managing software engineering teams;
working in cross-functional teams and collaborating closely with Product and other business functions.
7+ years of
in software engineering, with
in a backend engineering environment;
designing, building, and operating scalable and reliable production systems;
Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills;
mentoring senior engineers and developing technical leadership within a team.
working with AWS or other major cloud platforms;
leading engineering teams through complex technical projects and organisational change;
working on identity, authentication, KYC, onboarding, fraud prevention, or related financial services systems;
building and operating distributed, event-driven, or microservices-based systems;
working in fintech, banking, payments, or another regulated financial services environment;
Strong
with Go, Ruby/Rails, or another backend programming language;
