Location: Lagos

Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling and performance.
- Design systems for high availability, scalability and security in high-transaction environments.
- Collaborate with product, operations and compliance teams on mission-critical solutions.
- Lead agile delivery - sprint planning, backlog grooming and release management.
- Oversee end-to-end product development across frontend, backend and mobile.
- Enforce engineering best practices - code quality, testing and security standards.
- Architect, design and deliver scalable backend systems using Java (Spring Boot or similar).
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges across the stack.
- Provide technical leadership for Android and iOS application development.
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of 5+ engineers, driving performance, accountability and growth.
Requirements
Proven full-stack development
Experience
(frontend + backend).
Hands-on
building/overseeing mobile apps (Android & iOS).
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of API design/microservices, relational & NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), and CI/CD & DevOps practices.
Familiarity with financial regulations and security best practices (PCI DSS) is a plus.
Demonstrated
using AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) across the engineering lifecycle - requirements, architecture, coding, testing and documentation.
Demonstrated
managing and scaling engineering teams (5+ developers).
Strong expertise in Java and enterprise frameworks (Spring Boot).
in fintech, banking or high-volume transaction systems is highly preferred.
Ability to work across multiple time zones.
8-15 years of software development experience, with 3-5+ years in a leadership role.
Salary: N1,500,000 - N2,000,000 / month.
