Strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
- Develop effective lesson plans using differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
- Prepare students for excellence in WAEC, NECO, and other external examinations, and competitions.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, essay writing, oral English, and literature appreciation.
- Uphold and promote the school’s values, discipline policies, and safeguarding standards.
- Integrate educational technology and innovative teaching methods into classroom instruction.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for learning.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.

- Maintain accurate online and offline records of attendance, assessments, and academic performance.
- Qualifications &
Experience
Mature, professional, diligent, and committed to continuous professional development.
Teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGDE, PGCE, or equivalent) is required as applicable.
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, or a related field (B.Ed., B.A. Ed., or equivalent).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the effective use of educational technology.
Strong subject knowledge with excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
2–3 years teaching
at the secondary school level.
Demonstrated ability to prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and other external examinations, with strong knowledge of the Nigerian curriculum.
A Postgraduate Diploma in
teaching the British Curriculum is an added advantage.
