We are looking for an experienced, disciplined, and highly trustworthy Accountant to join our team in Ikoyi, Lagos. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a high level of integrity and accountability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring financial transactions, preparing reports, supporting financial decision-making, and ensuring that accounting processes are properly followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company financial information.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely processing of transactions.
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, payments, and receipts.
- Monitor cash flow and provide regular financial updates to management.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
- Prepare invoices, payment schedules, expense reports, and other relevant financial documents.
- Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and expenditure monitoring.
- Identify financial discrepancies, control gaps, or irregularities and escalate them appropriately.
- Maintain proper documentation and an organised financial filing system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documentation.
- Provide management with accurate financial information to support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal financial policies.
- Conduct bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies.
- Support internal and external audits when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Candidates who live within reasonable commuting distance of Ikoyi and surrounding areas are preferred.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with a high level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrated integrity, discipline, accountability, and discretion.
